Happiness

Hi,

My friend’s dad, Jason Cook, who is also an old friend of my mom (they went to high school together and have been friends ever since), is a teacher in Merryland (his words) and runs a group called Colours which is a student theater group that he started 20 years ago in the school he was working.

Here is a link to the Colours FB page:

It is a project that he is doing to encourage students to write. He put up a post the other day asking kids to write about what happiness is for them. I take a creative writing course every Thursday and I began writing my answer today in class.

Here is what I have so far:

What is happiness? Well, when I think of happiness I picture a dog, specifically, a golden retriever. They are always smiling and wagging their tail. Their golden color reminds you of the sun and their passion for being in water helps you remember the summer. When you look into their soft brown eyes you feel loved. Goldens always want to please you and they will never let you down. Just feeling their tons of fur with your fingertips makes you want to hug them tight and never let them go. When you ask what happiness is, now you know, it’s a golden retriever.

I am now going to work on the part why this appeals to me.
