My mom told me that she heard a story this morning on NPR about how President Obama said that there were fish swimming around the streets in Miami, he was exaggerating but he would have been right if he was talking about last week. It rained for days and days. One night, Saturday, Dec. 5th, it rained so much that the streets were flooded. Really flooded. The middle of my street was under about 8″ of water. We took the dogs out to go to the bathroom and the Wien had to swim! Sunny the retriever loved it so much. Even Rudy had fun.
And this past weekend we went to see a play that my friend is in at the Miracle Theater in Coral Gables. The play was Narnia, based on the book The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis. It was great. My mom bought us tickets to the Sensory Show, she did not know that she had done that until we got there. But it was interesting. They kept the lights in the house on a little bit, they turned down the sound, they provided toys and earphones for kids, and they had a psychologist in the audience just in case some kids could not deal with it all. How cool is that?
