Today in the class, Nature Conservation, that I take at the Deering Estate we went out in search of Pups. What kind of pups you are wondering, Otter Pups. In the streams around the Deering Estate there are Otters and they had babies which are called pups. I know they are not dog pups, but hey, pups are pups right? Well, we did not see the pups. My teacher told us that the parents only take out one at a time to teach them to swim. Pretty smart. So they must have been napping. We will go out again next week and hopefully I will get some pictures. But until then, enjoy these pups.
These are baby otters called pups.
This is an adult otter.
Here is another cool thing about otters, they attack ALLIGATORS!
