Tomorrow we are leaving for Orlando, to compete in the cluster shows before Royal Canin Weekend. This year I will be handling Riptide’s California Dreamin’, aka Cali. She is a ten month old Portuguese Water Dog out of Riptide kennels here in Miami. This year will be very different from last year. I have not been to a dog show since February. Show and Go is the method that shows are using these days. No loitering around the rings watching other breeds. No real socializing with other dog conformation enthusiasts. No vendors with the all to fabulous dog merchandise that I just cannot live without. But, the worst part is that there will not be Meet the Breeds! That is the best part of shows, you get to meet other breeds and work in your breed’s booth telling people about your breed. This activity does so much good for the dog show world. Wish us luck!
